DiningPro.net is the collaborative work of Donald and Nancy Baker, husband and wife. Our chief qualifications are that we like food, we like to cook, we like to eat out, and we like the best.

To us, dining out is, or should be - especially for special events - a theatrical experience. That the food must be good is a given. But just as important is the rest of the show - ambience, presentation, setting, service.

We live in Richmond, Va., but we have lived elsewhere - including Washington, D.C., Miami, Cleveland, Indianapolis - and we travel extensively, both in the U.S. - where our favorite spots are New York, San Francisco and Charleston, S.C. - and in Europe, where we love Italy, France and Spain.

Don, a journalist with 45 years daily newspaper experience, has been a waiter, including a car-hop at a D.C. drive-in in his college days, bartender, maitre'd and restaurant reviewer. Nancy, his wife, is the official taster (she's better at figuring out the herbs and sauces) and the one with the good taste.

Don Baker recently returned to writing about food for Style Weekly in Richmond, where he began his restaurant reviewing career in the late 1980s. He also reviewed restaurants for the now defunct "64" magazine.
